Welcome back or for the first time to ALTA everyone. This class schedule will cover NASTF, what we know about scan tool validation, and the progress being made for the Canadian market. After that we will move onto OEM softwares currently available to the Canadian market (with and without NASTF). It is highly recommended that you bring the laptop you would like to install OEM softwares on. Your daily laptop can be used but is not recommended. We recommend a ruggedized laptop with a 2 terabyte hard drive and 16 gigabytes of RAM minimum. Several of these OEM softwares require significant time investment to get them operational and are locked to the computer hardware which is why we want to try and help you avoid possibly wasting time. J2354 devices will also be discussed in depth identifying what you may already own to get you started and what is recommended for the greatest success. Ford has just released new pricing and procedures for the installation and general user operation as of 10/2/25. The price increases This class will also be covering the new user roles and functionality. For those who have used FDRS or IDS recently the main functionality has not changed once you get past this. GM Techline Connect is a great place for everyone to start who wants to begin in OEM software. This class will cover J2534 devices that are known to work with the CAN-FD interface that newer GM vehicles require and many pitfalls in the new system as well as work arounds. Stellantis (Dodge, Ram, Jeep, Chrysler, Fiat, etc.) will be covered in depth. This is not an instant setup OEM software and is recommended that the registration process begin before it is needed. A complete walk through of all subscriptions required to perform programming will be covered. Do not let that last sentence shy you away from these vehicles as there is plenty of profit margins to be made. Nissan Consult 3 class will dive into the 2 options available with and without NASTF. Yes there are some aftermarket tool solutions for doing these 21 and up vehicles with the hands free modules but once you begin using Consult 3 you no longer have to pull a dash apart or worry if the vehicle you just showed up to cannot be done if all keys are lost. Hyundai (hopefully KIA to follow) has released their new J2534 OEM software. This class will explore in depth the newest addition to the Locksmith arsenal of OEM software. As with all the other classes in this series complete registration, installation, setup, and use will be covered. VW/Audi ODIS is the major OEM software that is recommended to put on a ruggedized laptop. The class will go through the complete process which generally takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to complete the process and be fully functional. Do it right the first time and you won’t need to waste money later down the road and you’ll be ready to answer that call for service to increase revenue. Volvo VIDA is not the most glamorous line of OEM vehicles nor the most frequently requested service. That said it’s not scary once you know how to use it and as with many others is a great source of revenue due to the small number of Volvo dealerships in Canada outside of major metroplexes. J2534 pass-thru devices will be offered at a special price for course attendees. Secure your seat today and join industry professionals for two days of learning, expanding your knowledge, and networking.
