1960’s Gibson RB-180 Longneck Banjo Pete Seeger

Description Summary: This Gibson RB-180 long neck banjo is in great shape, and it sounds amazing. Gibson only made this model for a short time in the early 60s. The tuning keys on the headstock have been changed to Grovers. It ships in the original hard-shell case. Body: 11 drumhead, flathead tone ring, dark natural finish. Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 25 frets, pearl dot inlays, 1.20 nut width. Pickups/Hardware: Replacement Grover tuning keys, replacement bridge, armrest, nickel hardware (slightly tarnished, common for a banjo of this age). Cosmetics: This banjo is in great shape for its age. It has wear that is consistent with a vintage banjo from the 60s. This includes various nicks, dings, and scuffs throughout. The frets are in great shape, and it plays and sounds amazing. Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out. Weight: 9.07 lbs.
