Description New Paesold (Wilfer-made) model 593 3/4. Picked up at the NAMM Show. It picked up a few finish marks from handling at the show, so I dropped the price by $500. The most obvious feature of the wood used on this bass is the bold grain lines found on the top. This has a lot to do with the structural strenght of the top, allowing the top plate to be taken a little thinner. It is a very responsive  top, The maple used for the back and sides is fairly plain in figure. The tuning machines used are fancy black finish units with engraved plates. Another notable refinement feature is the relieving the the top plate edge on the G side  of the neck for about 4″ in length to allow greater comfort when playing in thumb position. Dimensions are: Top length 43 1/2″, Upper bout width 19 18″, Middle bout width  14 1/4″, Lower bout width 25 3/8″, Rib depth at tail 8 1/8″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 7 7/8″, Rib depth at neck 7″, String length 41 1/4″.
